Whether as an outside consultant or an employee, my work has often involved Instructional Design and Quality Standards. By serving as Project Manager I have worked with the entire cycle of design, development and offering of courses and workshops. The end-result has been online, face-to-face, or a combination of the two.

Grounded in a belief about the integrity of each learner, respect for learner diversity, and confidence that properly-used technology can enhance the experience - I have designed and managed literally hundreds of courses and workshops for colleges, universities and other clients.

At times we started with pre-existing content, though often we worked from scratch. Realizing that even excellent content is not enough, we leveraged both people and technology to create outstanding courses and workshops. A key feature has always been learner interactivity, i.e. not only passive reading and studying but also hands-on, real-world experiences.

I have particularly enjoyed the opportunity to design "multi-media" objects - not for entertainment (though they can be fun) but to provide a both-sides-of-the-brain experience for learners.

I hope that my specialization in Universal Instructional Design, Quality Standards and learner diversity will benefit you and your organization.
